Andrew DeNicola's Bio
Andrew DeNicola is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and premier jazz artist living in NYC. His musical journey started in 2004 when he began to play the Alto Saxophone. Some of the highlights of his career so far have been getting his bachelor's degree at Berklee College of Music in Jazz Composition and a Master's Degree from Queens College in Jazz Performance. Some of his mentors for the saxophone have included Antonio Hart, Billy Pierce, George Garzone, and Tim Armacost. Some of his composition mentors were Michael Phillip Mossman, Ayn Inserto, and Greg Hopkins.
While living in NYC, he has participated in several gigs as a bandleader/sideman. Some venues he has played at include Rockwood Music Hall, Marians Jazz Club, The Shapeshifter Lab, The Rainbow Room, Cipriani's, and the Vanderbilt Open Street Events. As a composer, he has written for his groups, arranged for big bands, and scored a docu-series. He also is skilled as a music director and coordinator for conferences and events in the city.
Andrew's style is dynamic and unpredictable. His beginnings in Jazz gave him a foundation to learn any style of music while creating his own. His main objective is to help artists and businesses bring high-quality music to their projects. Through composing and performing, Andrew can express his ideas to create unforgettable moments, musically speaking.
